That will minimize the tightness and make for a much more comfortable run.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That&amp;#39;s great progress on your splits.  I know how hard it is to increase your pace. I know some people walk or lightly jog their first mile just to get warmed up before they get into full stride. This happens to me also when I try going to fast before my body is warmed up.
