Making Progress!

Since my last post I've done 3 things that were huge (for me at least).

1. Wednesday night, ran solid lap (1/4mi) while doing 3.33mi in 1:02:43. Even though this was the first time I went for a full lap my heart rate only got up to 167. The full lap was done at a 13:36 avg pace so I wasn't blazing but I wasn't moping either. My focus for short term will be on building endurance and increasing the amount I can run in one stretch and increasing the total run in a workout.

2. Thursday, did 2 sets of the intermediate core workout. I'm still not able to complete all 12 reps of every exercise, but I'm definitely making progress. The push-ups, glute bridge to curl and split squats are the ones that give me the most trouble. But even in just the few intermediate workouts I've done, I've already been able to increase the number of reps of each of these exercises. And now that I'm up to doing the full workout twice, is huge progress.

3. Thursday, did 4.34mi in 15:00 on the recumbent bike. This was the first time on the bike since re-starting. One of the key things for me was that I didn't stop early. I had already done the core workout (and more core than I've done to date), and part of me really wanted to stop about half way through the 15 minutes. But I didn't! While the physical part was not too bad, the mental part is where I surprised myself. And it felt good.

I need to get in 1 more core workout and at least one more run this weekend. I also need to mow the yard so I may get yet another "workout" in.

Till Next Time...Keep Moving Forward!!!
