320.5
This week: +1.0lbs
Total: 20.0lbs
Hmmmmm.......
Well, this is the Monday update. It's actually Thursday, but I'm setting the post time and date to Monday.
It's the first time I've gained since I started. Actually, I was at 320.5 last week also. So, I gained 1lb 2 weeks ago and held steady last week.
A co-worker recently asked "...is the enthusiasm waning?". Well, in a word...yes. At least, over the last 4 weeks it has. See, I have never had a "healthy" view of myself. And, I alone do not provide me with enough motivation for me keep up with this for the long haul. I guess that's one reason for doing this blog. I need serious encouragment.
I guess there's a reason some people call me Eeyore.

Monday Update - 14 May 2007
319.5
This week: 1.0lbs
Total: 21.0lbs
Well, only 1 pound this week. But honestly, with how bad I've been over the past few weeks, I can't complain one bit about showing even the smallest positive change. I just need to do some serious soul searching and find a way to be better about things, especially at home.
Why does 319.5 seem so much lower than 320.5? I guess it's the same thing as stores pricing goods at $19.95 versus rounding up to $20.00.

Monday Update - 07 May 2007
This week: 0.5lbs
Total: 20.0lbs
Hmmm, only 0.5lb this week. Actually, I'm not going to complain too much because of how bad I've been over the last couple of weeks, especially since Thursday. And, this week's 0.5lb loss puts me at 20 total, nothing to complain about. Now I just need to kick things up a notch and get re-focused on the things I need to be doing.
I finally got in gear this morning and got up around 5:30 and did my 30 minute walk/run. Now, if I can just do this everyday!!!! I'm up to about 1.7miles during my 30 minute workouts. And they are getting a little easier as time goes by. And not easier in terms of being easier to do the same thing, but easier in terms of my body being able to deal with what I'm doing to it. The running muscles in my legs are really starting to show and the "shinsplints" haven't bothered me in several weeks. Up until the last week or so I was still taking things fairly easy since I hurt my knee. But, over the last week or so I've started uping the running segments I do. My knees (and legs in general), I dare say, feel great. I still have to be carefull, because at 320lbs I stand a higher chance of injury.
Disney posted a new "pace" requirement for the ToT races. Instead of their customary 15min/mile pace, they are going to put a total time limit on both races. Both races must be completed in 2 hours 30 minutes. 6.5K (4.04mi) in 2:30? Yep, that's averaging a 37:08 mile!!!! I think I can handle that!!!
One last note before I go. Three good friends of mine were guests on the All About the Mouse Disney podcast that aired last Friday. Mike Scopa, Lou Mongello and Jonathan Dichter were guests on Brian Ripper's podcast for a "Disney Marathon Roundtable." Be sure to check it out!!

Resistance is Futile……
…You WILL be Assimilated.
Just ask my wife. After weeks of resisting the push to join me in starting running, I just registered her for the Tower of Terror 6.5K race in October.
After last weekend’s Country Music Marathon she confessed that it was fun and even said “I can do that”. So, one thing leads to another and she asks me to register her for the ToT 6.5K race.
Oh my, the monster keeps getting bigger every day!!!
Oh!!! And for the truly diehard geeks….”Resistance is Futile….You Will Be Approximated!!!
